Mother of the Groom 2 by Erica Sloane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
STOP! Just in case the title didn't give it away, this is the sequel to Mother Of The Groom, so if you haven't read it, then get to clickin' and buy it, because it is imperative you read it before you read MOTHER OF THE GROOM 2.
We met the sexually repressed, M.I.L.F., Mrs. Roderick in the first book and let me tell you, she is one hot mama! The weekend of her son's wedding turned into a sexual adventure that was radically outside the confining boundaries of her comfort zone. Now that her conservative veneer has been marred, she craves more of the carnal domination she experienced during that delicious weekend with Brandon.
Now, in book #2, Mrs. Roderick finds herself in a tricky predicament when Brandon is forced to stay in her guest room for the Thanksgiving holidays. Of-course, don't you know he has a naughty laundry list of risque shenanigans up his sleeve and a few fantasies of his own to fulfill. MOTHER OF THE GROOM 2 is like an afternoon tryst...sexy, exciting and fulfilling and over long before you want it to be. I would love to hear more about Mrs. Roderick and Brandon's secret liaison!

Saved by One, Shared by Two by Sylvia Ryan
COMING SEPTEMBER 1ST!
Saved by One, Shared by Two by Sylvia Ryan
Survival…that’s all Julia was hoping for when she set off alone. The EMP left nothing working and civilization crumbled rapidly. Her plan to flee to safety failed and she lay dying when Arden found her. He brought her home and saved her life.
Julia had no choice but to wait out the winter with sweet, sexy Arden and his seductive best friend, Ben. She tried to ignore the sexual tension and constant temptation of living with the men, but eventually she gave in to each man’s seduction.
When both men came to the realization that they were in love with Julia, their lifelong friendship prevented them from competing for her. So, a deal was struck between them. She would accept and love them together, or not at all.

Sex-O-Matic by Vee Michaels
Sex-O-Matic by Vee Michaels
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Since when does a man actually read the manual? I guess when "the manual" stands between a man and a curvaceous beauty, then there's no time to waste with mistakes. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do, right?
Well, when Marv, the UPS driver pulls up to make his final delivery of the day, the last thing he expects is to be greeted by a swooning beauty in need of a knight in shining armor. Well, that is glamorizing Holly's situation quite a bit, but you'll have to read it if you want to know the real deal. Trust me, it's worth it.
This erotic shortie has a lot packed in 25 pages. How can a book with the title "Sex-O-Matic" not be hot? Honestly, I went into this short story thinking it would be all porn and no plot. I was pleasantly surprised with the depth Vee Michaels was able to accomplish in these few pages. Yes, there was actually a story! Though the story felt complete, I would LOVE to see a follow up sex toy adventure! I am certain Holly and Marv have enough fire to heat up a few more pages for another round.

Review: His Beck and Call Girl
His Beck and Call Girl by Cooper McKenzie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
HIS BECK AND CALL GIRL, the sixth book in the Club Esoteria series, continues along the similar line of previous books in the series, pairing a kind and gentle Dom with a new and curious submissive.
There is nothing worse than not knowing where you stand in a relationship...not knowing if you are treasured or expendable and it is that uncertainty Sinclair feels regarding her relationship with Jackson and it is eating at her heart. Sick of the see-saw of emotions this man evokes, Sinclair struts in to the firehouse Jackson works, exuding confidence she did not feel and boldly announces that she has had enough of his wishy-washy behavior. She declares the time has come for Jackson to put the hurt he has experienced in the past behind him, time to open up and trust her or move on without her in his life. Either way, she makes it clear their relationship has come to the proverbial fork in the road.
Throwing out ultimatums is dicey—one never knows which way things will go. In Sinclair's case, it turns out to be an excellent decision on her part! She thought their sexual encounters were stellar in the beginning of their relationship, well, let me tell you when Master Jackson enters the picture, their lovemaking excels to galactic proportions bringing heat she didn't even know existed. I enjoyed getting to know the characters. They were easy to relate to and I loved watching their relationship accelerate once they addressed the big elephant in the room.
For the lighter side of BDSM, I love this series, it combines just the right amount of kink and sweetness to appeal to a variety of audiences. It is an excellent series for readers new to the BDSM sub-culture. If you are considering dipping into the BDSM scene, Club Esoteria is a great series to start with. I promise it will leave you begging for more and will whet your appetite for an erotic read that's a step above vanilla as it incorporates elements of light bondage, spanking and D/s.

Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins
Until There Was You by Kristan Higgins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Who doesn't love a bad boy? It really doesn't matter if you are young or old, the bad boy has appeal. Picture this: Piercing green eyes, dark hair, powerful body clad in well worn jeans and a black leather jacket with a motorcycle helmet tucked under his arm and a smile that promises to fulfill all your fantasies. Now, you are lying to yourself if that mental image doesn't turn you on!
Posey is just one of those loveable characters that you just want to squeeze and you get a little teary-eyed just thinking about people mistreating her. Then there's Liam. You know that bad boy I made you picture a minute ago, well, that's him. Yum!
I really loved this story! It toggles between current day and memories from Posey and Liam's past. Sometimes, that type of narration can be distracting, but not in this case...It really helps to understand all the characters, and why they are they way they are today. It is a sweet, sad and passionate telling of a romance that takes twenty years to evolve. I'll be honest, I don't typically cry over a book, but I was wiping away tears on several occasions while reading this one. It is definitely a feel-good romance worth reading.

Mile High Airship Club by Nishi Serrano
Newlywed Lady Rose’s curiosity is inflamed when a mysterious airship captain shows up extending an honorary invitation for she and her husband, Lord William, to join the Mile High Airship Club. A club she has never heard mention of in polite society. Rose is excited for the trip. It will be her first time aboard an airship. However, Rose is blissfully unaware of the trials she will endure to acquire a membership in this pleasure club!

~Excerpt~
As they were escorted across the landing where they would soon board the Seduisante—an enormous feat of New Victoria’s engineering—Rose clutched her adoring husband’s arm. Curvilinear grids and stacks gleamed in the crisp fall sunshine. Ground crews swarmed, hoisted, and shouted while working on last preparations for the lucky flight of twenty-four guests eager to board.
“Did you know it takes near ninety citizens to crew this size of an airship?” William asked.
“I can imagine. Flying in the sky they look quite tiny, like a child’s toy. It must have taken thousands of master metallurgists to create such a complex and stunning sculpture. I wonder if the world will also seem a toy shining through the clouds from so very far above it,” Rose mused.
William laughed. “Yes, my love, and we shall make it our playground.” He continued chuckling to himself. Rose contemplated his faraway look. Was he secretly pondering over her naiveté? And what lessons would she discover once aboard? Make no mistake, Rose knew William loved her with all his heart, and he often said a healthy, lasting relationship began with the basic tenants of pleasure. Damn the stifling ethics of society! Behind closed doors Rose wanted to be his goddess in training.
Eleven other couples dressed in elegance and dripping jewels waited at the foot of the gangway as they were greeted by the Chief Pilot, Lieutenant, and to Rose’s secret discomfit, Captain Harland. She was extra surprised to see her tea-time friend Katrina and her husband ahead of her in the receiving line. Rose watched as the couple approached Captain Harland and was a bit jealous as his appraising eyes twinkled at Katrina, then he bowed and winked. Katrina giggled and whispered something in her husband’s ear as they passed the captain. Rose chided her brewing anger; she was acting like a strumpet.

Liberating Lacey by Anne Calhoun
Liberating Lacey by Anne Calhoun
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Oh how I love a gentleman in uniform!
Lacey is a 36 year old divorcee and Hunter is a 28 year old dirty-hot, but gentlemanly cop. What do they have in common? On the surface, it doesn't look like they have much in common, but in the bedroom, Whoa! Nelly! They have got some major chemistry going on. Lacey is all innocence and inexperience when it comes to casual sex...having only been with her boring ex-husband as a lover, boy does she have a lot to learn. Hunter is just the man to bang the prim and proper right off Lacey's pretty-little-white-lace-covered ass. And bang he does!
This is definitely a new favorite for me. Great story! Great characters! Fantastic chemistry! Read this smutty little gem if you are looking for a good read.

Consequences by Aleatha Romig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
STOP THE MADNESS!!! Seriously, I can’t take it! I absolutely CANNOT take the not knowing what is going to happen next… I have really got to stop reading books that make me crazy – yeah right, I suppose that is half the fun, right?
First of all, I feel the need to disclose that this is not a fun and fluffy book – entertaining, mysterious, scary and frustrating – yes, yes, yes and yes! NOT a story of goodness and light. Of-course, parts of the book are fun and sexy, but there is always a sinister undertone lurking in the background.
Brutalized and kidnapped by a handsome and wealthy psycho, Claire struggles with a wide range of emotions over a period of 2 years while being held captive - trapped in beautifully exquisite surroundings but a horrifically terrifying life.
As the book’s blurb says, it really does “unfold like a movie.” In fact, SLEEPING WITH THE ENEMY came to mind a lot. Reading CONSEQUENCES was like being on an emotional rollercoaster and I am still reeling. I was constantly conflicted. The emotional and physical abuse Claire endured was painful to read – I was screaming at her to get a freaking grip and get the hell out! Then, at other times, I was really rooting for Anthony and Claire to make it as a couple. As I was reading, I tried to distance myself from the contents on the pages, but ultimately, the bold imagery forced me to internalize the emotion of the abused heroine – this must be similar to the feelings abused women go through. The emotions of despair and anxiety at having to constantly walk on eggshells in fear of upsetting the sensitive balance between loving elation and angry outbursts. It was exhausting.
I love it when the author throws the reader a curve ball and that is exactly what Aleatha Romig does in CONSEQUENCES. I was certain I knew what was going to happen then she totally yanked the rug right out from under me, knocking me on my ass and leaving me totally stunned. I am on the edge of insanity waiting for Book #2, Aleatha!
Looking for a psychological thriller? Then you have found it! It’s a good one! CONSEQUENCES is definitely a book you have to read. I hope it evokes the same crazy emotions in you that it did in me and I hope you love it as much as I did!

Three to Ride by Sophie Oak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
There is just something about the way Sophie Oak pulls a naughty story together that just gets me going! There are only so many story lines that an author can make up that make them seem unique, not just the same story with different characters. Although all of the stories I have read by this author have similar elements, they are just different enough that I can actually read them back to back without getting bored!
This one was about twin brothers searching for their perfect woman who will allow them both to be her husbands. When Rachel Swift settles down in the special little town of Bliss, she has survival on the brain and has thoughts of men and new relationships no where near top of mind...that is until she meets the smokin' hot twins.
This was a very entertaining read and now I am off to see how Callie fairs in her reunion with her hot little male duo.

The Young and the Topless by Erica Sloane
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Recommended for: lovers of cheater cheater pumpkin eaters!
Whew! Naughty, nasty, Neil Baker... The wife goes out of town and his hormones go buck wild! Who doesn't want a little taste of the youth of our past? Well, where we all might have thought about it, Mr. Baker acts on it!
I am still curious though... is Mr. Baker old and dumpy or a hottie? That is something that wasn't really laid out for us that I would have liked to have known what the author intended.
I loved this dirty little read that skirts taboo with a heroine that is "barely legal". You'll like this if you like to get down and dirty with a risqué short read.

If you are familiar with Erica Sloane's writing, you already know this one is going to be quick and dirty, just how I like it!
Mrs. Brock is a woman in her 40's with a husband who is more concerned with what's on the tube than what she has on... After more than 20 years of marriage and a less than stellar sex life coupled with zero conversation, she realizes they are basically existing in in the same space. Realizing she can't live the next 40+ years of her life like this, she seeks her own excitement.
Keep in mind when you go into this that the story is a "Mrs. Robinson" type story line...it is a hot and sexy quickie that's bound to please!

Who says running away will never make you free? Well, Kenny Loggins said that, but he didn't know what he was talking about, because things worked out just fine for Dana...
Dana fears the life that is her destiny. As Lycan female, she is rare and should be treasured and against Dana's desires, she must be shared among the males in her pack. She witnessed her mother's misery and is determined to avoid that life for herself. In an effort to dodge her destiny, Dana runs away from her pack and her future, imposing a life of solitude and loneliness upon herself in order to escape the miserable image she conjured in her mind of how life would be in a polygamous relationship .
After a series of events, she finds herself in a precarious situation. Her mind is at war with her body and she realizes she must put her past misconceptions out of her head and follow her heart.
If you know me, you probably know that Eve Langlais and her characters have a special place in my heart. She truly has a gift for creating likeable characters that you want and want to be...if anyone is taking orders, I will take one of each: John, Kody and Nathan. I might need to get my whip out on occasion to get Nathan's ass in line, but I will take him, jealousy, temper and all! She combines just the right amount of humor, drama, and let us not forget sexy scenes...oh, yeah, they are good!
So, I'll wrap this up and quit gushing over Langlais like a little school girl. Bottom line is: it gets my seal of approval from start to finish and everything in the middle. If you are looking for a hot and sexy shifter read that combines menage with a good story and some great characters, then you really should check this out.

Succubus Blues (Georgina Kincaid #1) by Richelle Mead ...A MOVIE in the works???
The Georgina Kincaid series is one of my favorites! LOVE IT! How did I not know a possible movie is in the works? This is monumental. Wow! Does anyone know anything about it?
If you are not familiar with the series, here is the blurb:
Succubus. An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men. Pathetic. A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.
When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?
But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore--free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't.
But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny...
My review of book 1:
Succubus Blues by Richelle Mead
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
If the first book is indicative of the series, I am gonna venture to say that this will probably be on my favorites list by the time I am finished. Not only is there a little romance, a little tension, some action; but there is a whole lot of humor. Georgina and the gang are full of witty one liners and deadpan jokes...I was totally laughing out loud (so much so, that my husband made me go in the other room).
The plot is great...different from other UF/PNR I have been reading lately. I was a nice change of pace. I love/hate the torturous situation Georgina is in as a Succubus--she can't have a relationship with mortals b/c she sucks their life force out. On the other hand, she doesn't date other immortals b/c of the "work place politics" of that...I guess interoffice relationships are frowned upon in hell too. So she has a bevy of men falling at her feet--2 of which she is actually interested in but keeps pushing them away b/c she genuinely likes them and doesn't want to kill them. Now, that's mighty nice of her.
I don't want to ruin the story for those of you who haven't read it, but all I have to say is: as soon as "he" entered the story, I KNEW IT! I knew how it would all turn out--I didn't mind the predictability of it though. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey and I am so glad she was able to relieve some of her pent up tension in the end...with someone she actually wanted to hook up with.

The movie trailer I stumbled across:

2014 - Bookie Nookie's Erotic Lending Group Application
Wickedest Witch by Eve Langlais
Wickedest Witch by Eve Langlais
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
My one complaint with this book is that it wasnt long enough...but not because the story was deficient, but because I'm stingy and I wanted more!
I have read one other book by Langlais and what I have found with both books was charming, funny and likable characters that ooze sex appeal. The females are not damsels in distress, they are ass kicking heroines who crave independence but, of course, they ultimately succumb to the delicious men who chase them.
I can't wait to meet the characters in her other books. I liked the first 2 books I have read by this author so much that I bought 5 others on fictionwise today! Yeah, they are that good!

Mona Lisa Awakening (Monère: Children of the Moon, #1) by Sunny
Mona Lisa Awakening by Sunny
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This was another one of those books that sat on my "to read" shelf forever--I kept putting it off for one reason or another...I think that the description of the book on the cover doesn't do the book justice.
When I read the cover, I was thinking--hmmm, children of the moon--that sounds stupid. Without giving anything away, being one of the "children of the moon" really just means you bask or rejuvenate your body in the moon light when it is a full moon. Sunny does a great job of creating her own version of vampires, shifters and demons.
Mona Lisa knows nothing of her heritage and is living as a lonely single woman amongst humans. She has never felt any sort of emotional connection with any human male and has no idea what it feels like to experience the joys of a relationship the couples share. Then, one night she comes in contact with an injured Monere warrior at the ER-where she works and from there, her world is forever changed as she feels like she has never felt before.
Although I would not classify this book as erotic, there are explicit sexual situations, as well as action and violence. So, if you have an aversion to that type of content, please be advised. I personally did not think this series was any more violent than others I have read, but several people I recommended it to commented on the violence. :-)

Be With Me by Maya Banks
Be With Me by Maya Banks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I wasn't sure how this book would finally land on me, but I have to say--I really liked it!
Picture the lonely rich girl who befriends the town juvenile delinquents--one is sensitive, smart and self motivated with an alpha side she didn't know existed--another is a "meat head" who is all testosterone and rough around the edges--the other is tender and caring and treats her like a fragile glass doll-- but they are all smokin' hot and totally in love with Reggie. Ten years later, as adults, they realize after a night of passion (when they all have sex with her at the same time) that they would rather share her than make her choose or give her up. Will she go for it? It's going to take some convincing, but they are a pretty persuasive trio...
I enjoyed the entire book. There was no part that lulled--the characters were well developed. In the beginning, I was thinking: I can hardly keep up with the demands of one man, much less 3--good lord, she is a goddess. By the time I finished the book, I was kinda jealous of her ;-)
Warning: If you didn't catch on from the review, there is F-M-M-M sexual situations...guess that would be called a menage a quatro??

Erotic Diversions: A Collection of Desire by CJ Taekin
Got this one to review today, I haven't read it yet, but it sounds promising.
Erotic Diversions: A Collection of Desire
A collection of five erotic short stories blending the physical, emotional and psychological dimensions of sex with rich characters, vivid imagery and creative storylines.
Survivors
A plane is missing in the Alaskan wilderness. Rescue teams race to find survivors before a blizzard consumes them. As the storm descends, one of the teams is trapped in a remote valley where they fight for life and test the strength of their love.
High Contrast
For his own perverted fantasy, a conniving husband schemes to control the desires of his beautiful wife. What he unleashes in her shocks his core as he struggles to contain her new sexual self. Control can sometimes be more apparent than real.
Inside Out
Undiscovered desires become flash points of passion when ignited in the right way by the wrong person. How we respond to these revelations shape who we are. Our heroin searches for understanding of her sexuality when she succumbs to passion. How did he make her do those depraved things? What is inside her?
The Assignment
Student and teacher learn that sex is a capricious siren - passionate and loving in one encounter, carnal and reckless in another. Those who succumb to the siren’s impulsive seduction risk judgment for the lure of all-consuming pleasure. For better or worse, society will judge your sexuality when presented with an opportunity to do so.
A Matter of Time
Sometimes experiences transform people. The transformation releases raw energy that crushes taboos and gender roles. Newcomers in its path are swept up and initiated into the cult of kink. A woman learns this when gay lovers reveal a previously undiscovered desire in her. Consumed by this new found passion, she seduces her boyfriend into submission.

Ugh! This one was a bit anti climatic....well, after you read it you are going to as your self what the heck did "Bookie Nookie" expect? Well folks, I expected a little more bookie Nookie if you know what I mean! Shoot, if we aren't going to get any bedroom action, I want to see some more story line action. I am sorry, but this one was a disappointment to me. I will say that I was surprised, but not shocked by the ending. That is what happens when you read reviews and trust that people won't spoil it for you. It wasn't laid out in black and white, but it was said in a manner that had me guessing the ending before I had read the first page...errrr location. Whatever.
This is one of my favorite series, I am hoping that the new turn of "events" will breathe some new life into a stale story...Come on Chloe! I know you can do it!! November is right around the corner, please don't let me down!

Twice Bitten (Chicagoland Vampires, #3)Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill
Twice Bitten by Chloe Neill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I totally love this series...I should have waited until she finished the series before I started it! I am anxious about the next one.
What I really like about this series is that although the heroine is rough and tumble and can get down and dirty with the boys, she is still a woman with a soft side and has to fight against the humanity that still remains within her. A lot of time the bad ass heroine is so tough and repressed it is hard to relate to her, but not Merit.
The men in this series are oh so yummy! I do have to say that I hope she doesn't fall into Ethans love trap again. What is it they say, " once bitten, twice shy". Or in this case, I guess it is twice bitten. Then again in the next book it could be "third time's a charm", but somehow I doubt it will be that easy.

Friday Night Bites (Chicagoland Vampires, #2) by Chloe Neill
Friday Night Bites by Chloe Neill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoy the characters in this series. As for the men in the series, you've got your brooding alphas, your token geek, the asshole father, the old flame...there are more, but you get the point.
In book 1, I was torn between Ethan & Morgan as the love interest for Merit. When Ethan basically gave Merit to Morgan, I was a little shocked to say the least, but then again, at that time, he still had his skanky little consort, Amanda to keep him warm at night. But when things went topsy-tervy at Navvare House and Morgan was named Master, I knew things were going to get interesting...or I thought they would. I thought the tension between the love triangle was a little weak, but still good. I knew things wouldn't last with Morgan--how could it with him being Master and Ethan being her Master? I have a feeling that we will see more of Morgan as a love interest--the men seem to have quite the infatuation with 'ole Mer--is this gonna be another Sookie thing and she will turn out to have a little fae in her blood? Anyhoo... I am hoping things heat up between Mer and Ethan in book 3.
There was a much bigger cliff hanger in this book than the first. There was a whole lot of cryptic talk going on there at the end when the shifter Alpha for North America, Gabriel was introduced. What was that about them practically being family? Is that because of her connection with Nick and the Breck family? Is he hoping for a reconciliation there? Hmm... Then of course, there is the cryptic invites she keeps getting--looks like we will find out what's up with that in the beginning of book 3.
Looking forward to seeing where this series is heading.

Some Girls Bite (Chicagoland Vampires, #1) by Chloe Neill
Some Girls Bite by Chloe Neill
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Main reasons to love this book:
1. Snarky humor from ass-kicking female protagonist, Merit.
2. Brooding, sexy, alpha male/master vampire and love interest named Ethan.
3. Delicious vampire-second in command at a rival vamp house, the House of Navarre. As equally alpha as Ethan--also a love interest. His name is Morgan...and the mental picture is equally as hot as Ethan--maybe even more so.
4. Lots of sexual tension between said female and vampireS.
5. 2 awesome side-kicks. Merit's Side kick #1=Mallory/roommate/BFF/sorcerer. Merit's Side kick #2=Lindsey/new vamp BFF/house guard/mentor.
6. Oh! Can't forget Jeff, the geeky shifter with a raging hard-on for Merit.
I really loved how this story developed and I was quite surprised by the ending. Of-course the ending poses a major problem for Ethan and the decision he made during "the altercation." Hmmm...I smell a whole lot of very interesting situations in book #2. This is a great book for lovers of the paranormal, if you haven't gotten this series, now is the perfect time!

Angels' Blood by Nalini Singh
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I thought Nalini Singh did a great job with this book--I loved the concept. I loved the characters. I loved that she stepped away from her comfort zone of Psy-Changeling style PNR. This book seems more like urban fantasy romance to me--there is lots of action and lots of sexual tension between vampire hunter, Elena & Archangel, Raphael. If you have read the Psy-Changeling series by Singh, this series is different, but equally, if not more so enjoyable.
I don't want to say too much and if you don't want to spoil this book, refrain from reading the summary about the next book in this series, Archangels' Kiss. I love it when there are 2 head strong characters who have to struggle with each other and their inner self before they can take the plunge to fall in love.
I am going to leave my review at that so I don't spoil it for you!
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves vampires, but is really looking for a new spin on things and of-course for anyone who loves a lot of action and romance. If you have read Singh's psy-changeling series and loved it--read this book. If you hated the psy-changeling series, give this book a shot. I think you might be pleasantly surprised!

Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas
Comfort Food by Kitty Thomas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This must start off with a disclaimer. This book is about a kidnap victim imprisoned against their will and caged for a period of 6 months. This book contains kidnap, non-consensual/dubious consent...some of the sexual situations were forced, but more dubious consent because her captor would withhold things she craved if she did not agree to his requests.
I went into this book expecting something horrific after some of the discussions I have seen, but I wasn't so much horrified with it, but I was a bit intrigued and disturbed. I just can't really wrap my mind around this entire scenario...I actually felt really sorry for both the victim and captor. In his mind, he isn't doing anything wrong because he is giving her a choice...although he is forcing her to consent to his requests. In his journal he said something to the effect of: 'I found something strong and beautiful and I want to break it'...ok, that is not normal!!! Obviously he felt powerless in his life and feels that he has to control something in order to feel strong--that makes me sad for him. She gets totally effed in the head because she comes to crave whatever he has to offer her...as long as he is interacting with her. Honestly, if you go into this knowing what to expect, you will enjoy it. Although I never want to be in that situation, I can see how both taking control and relinquishing control would empower someone as it did these two characters. It was definitely thought provoking. I thought it was an intriguing and enjoyable read.

The Mis-adventures of a Teenage Mark by Mark Alders
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I just had to see what all the chatter was about...'cause there sure was a lot it in one of my book groups and now I see why!
The Mis-adventures of a Teenage Mark was a very insightful peek into the author's teenage years as he explored his sexuality. This story made me feel a variety of emotions. I laughed...A LOT while reading about the interesting situations in which he found himself. I felt sad for him a few times when people he trusted turned against him. I was scared for him on occasion, for instance, when I thought his "secret" rendezvous would be discovered. Ultimately I felt happy for Mark--he seems to have found himself and someone to love (which he greedily kept to himself :-).
I really would like to hear more of this author's trials and tribulations. Very entertaining!
