#Review: A is for Alpha Male by Laurel Ulen Curtis @LUCurtisAuthor

A is for Alpha MaleA is for Alpha Male by Laurel Ulen Curtis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a genius story line! I can’t imagine any better memory to cherish than a once in a lifetime adventure in the form of a road trip! And who better to share it with than your BFF who also happens to be your mother?

Of course I wanted to embarrass my children one day. Isn’t that why people had kids? Besides free labor, I mean.
Author Laurel Ulen Curtis combines loads of humor with a touching story of a mother-daughter team looking for love on the road, of all places! As they set out on their quest to find love, they decide that they should take a few pointers from their favorite romance writer, Kristen Ashley – they come up with a list of traits they desire in the man of their dreams… I came to think of it as their “ABC love bucket list.” Their list begins like this:
1. A is for “Alpha Male”
2. B is for “Badass”
3. C is for “Cool Name”
4. D is for “Dangerous”
And so it goes…
Okay, Mom. Let’s go through the list one more time. We need to be on our game, so the list needs to be second nature.
But what happens when that special someone doesn’t fit with the qualities you thought were what you desired in the person you plan to spend the rest of your life with? You move on, of course! Or… You come to your damn senses and realize that a list is a nice guide, but it’s the person inside that beautiful shell you were initially attracted to that really matters and NO one person will ever fit that perfect mold to a “T”.

A IS FOR ALPHA MALE is a super fun story – I totally loved it! It’s the perfect book to read if you are looking for a little pick-me-up, because it is hilarious. I am always amazed at how authors come up with their stories – just when I think I have read it all; I pick up a book like this one. A IS FOR ALPHA MALE is a wildly entertaining, romantic comedy and I feel confident that it will bring a smile to your face and a flutter to your heart!

I highlighted so many great quotes in this book, but here are a few of my favorites:

Haley, you need a shower. Sweet Lord, you look like you’ve been given a makeover by homeless people.
Even if I was planning on giving the business, I never wanted to look like I was in “the business”.
Yeah. Swampy. It was just too hot. And being a Vol fan, I avoided all things that included The Swamp.
(I can totally appreciate this last quote – being a fan of SEC football, but I wear red and black to all the games and yes, my bark is just as bad as my bite ;-)
