Description:
Book Three in the Amazon Best Selling Evolve Series by S.E.Hall, Entice can be read following Emerge, Embrace and Entangled (novella) or as a stand-alone.
Sawyer Beckett does everything full throttle— he’s fiercely loyal to his friends, always the life of the party and impossible for the parade of women in and out of his bedroom to forget.
Surrounded by true love and happily ever afters, Sawyer's not sure if he's enhancing the what-ifs in his head, or if the goddess on stage that night really is worth the search and nagging in his chest.
At the most inopportune moment possible, Emmett Young comes "skipping" back into his life...and for the first time, Sawyer is the one left wanting more. But Emmett can't give her heart; it's already committed—for life.
The only one strong enough to bring the elusive playboy to his knees is the one he can't have. Luckily, Sawyer Beckett doesn't give up easily.
Mature subject matter and strong sexual content- mature audiences only recommended.
Review:
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
The Evolve series men do not make it easy for real men to compete. They are devoted, committed, and emphatically, insistently, stubbornly in love for better or worse. What guy can compare to such perfection? Sawyer, who in prior books in the series seemed like the ultimate guys’ guy, falls head over heels for Emmett and quickly becomes even more doting than his predecessors (if that’s possible).
Sawyer first saw Emmett when she stripped at a bachelor party he was attending. She stood out as the worst stripper he’d ever seen, but also as someone he wanted to whisk off the stage and rescue. Sawyer does everything in his power to find the mystery girl, but she is as elusive as they get and he wallows in misery and a lot of one-night stands when he can’t seem to find her. When Sawyer finally finds Emmett, she is adamant that they cannot be together despite his persistent and gallant attempts.
ENTICE had me torn in that I found Sawyer a little over the top in his attempts to woo Emmett. I thought Sawyer’s instant love and complete assurance that nothing could turn him off of Emmett seemed a bit unrealistic. For me the believability didn’t really pick up until around 60 percent through when Sawyer and Emmett started having problems. I felt like I finally had a story I could invest in and sink my teeth into and suddenly the pages were flying by. I have to say I enjoyed their problems and their attempts to move through their conflicts much more than I did the initial attraction.
As a whole I would give ENTICE 3.5 stars with the first 60% earning 3 stars but the final 40% earning a solid 4 stars. If you’re in the mood for a guy who will do whatever it takes to make his woman happy and only enough angst to keep the story rolling, ENTICE will be just what the doctor ordered. ENTICE can be read as a stand-alone though its best enjoyed as the third book in the Evolve series.
