Blog Tour #Review and #Giveaway: Quintessentially Q by @PepperWinters

Quintessentially Q by Pepper Winters

Release Date: December 15th, 2013
Genre: New Adult Erotic Suspense Romance

Description:

“All my life, I battled with the knowledge I was twisted… fucked up to want something so deliciously dark—wrong on so many levels. But then slave fifty-eight entered my world. Hissing, fighting, with a core of iron, she showed me an existence where two wrongs make a right."

Tess is Q’s completely. Q is Tess’s irrevocably. But now, they must learn the boundaries of their unconventional relationship, while Tess seeks vengeance on the men who sold her. Q made a blood-oath to deliver their corpses at Tess’s feet, and that’s just what he’ll do.

He may be a monster, but he’s Tess’s monster.

Tears of Tess, Monsters in the Dark #1 - My 5 of 5 star Review

Review:

My Rating 5 of 5 stars

TEARS OF TESS was dark and delicious, but critics scoffed at the “dark” label claiming it wasn’t dark enough – I disagree, but to each his own.  Author Pepper Winters kicks up dark elements in the follow-up book, QUINTESSENTIALLY Q, leaving no question that monsters really DO lurk in the dark – careful what you wish for.

Where TEARS OF TESS romanticized the dark elements in relation to the themes of kidnapping, non-con and human trafficking, QUINTESSENTIALLY Q took the romance and pretty much stomped it to smithereens.  The tone in QUINTESSENTIALLY Q was decidedly different.  It was dark and emotional and real.  Tess’ demeanor went from that of a young woman searching for some pizzazz in her sex life in TEARS OF TESS to a broken mess of nothingness in QUINTESSENTIALLY Q.  Although I missed that fiery spirit Tess had in book one, I felt like QUINTESSENTIALLY Q was a more realistic portrayal of how a person who has fallen victim to the sadistic pleasures of others might actually behave.  And then, the emotionally invincible Q showed a side of himself I never expected to see: vulnerability, sadness and a love so powerful that nothing and no one could damage it.

The third and final book (I think) in the MONSTERS IN THE DARK series is set for a 2014 release and I am anxious to discover how their story will play out.

About the Author:

Pepper Winters wears many roles. Some of them include writer, reader, sometimes wife. She loves dark, taboo stories that twist with your head. The more tortured the hero, the better, and she constantly thinks up ways to break and fix her characters. Oh, and sex… her books have sex.

She loves to travel and has an amazing, fabulous hubby who puts up with her love affair with her book boyfriends.

Her debut book Tears of Tess will be followed with Quintessentially Q. You didn’t think Q could stop so soon, did you? Her other two titles, Last Shadow and Broken Chance will be coming soon.
