Title: Welcome to Sugartown
Author: Carmen Jenner
Genre: Contemporary New Adult
Release Date: November 3, 2013
Ana Belle never wanted anything more than to hang up her apron, jump on her Vespa and ride off into the sunset, leaving Sugartown in the dust.
Elijah Cade never wanted anything more than a hot meal, a side of hot arse and a soft place to lay his head at night where he could forget about his past.
But you know what they say about wanting: you always want what you can’t have.
Nineteen year-old virgin Ana is about to discover that’s not quite true because a six foot three, hotter than hell, tattooed, Aussie sex god just rode into town. He’s had a taste of her pie and he wants more– no really, Ana bakes pies for a living, get your mind out of the gutter.
She’d be willing to hand over everything tied up in a big red bow, there’s just one problem; Elijah has secrets dirtier than last week’s underwear. Secrets that won’t just break Ana’s heart, but put her life at risk, too. When those secrets come to light, their relationship is pushed to breaking point.
Add to that a psychotic nympho best friend, an overbearing father, a cuter than humanly possible kid brother, a wanton womanizing cousin, the ex from hell and more pies than you could poke a ... err ... stick ... at.
And you thought small towns were boring.
5 of 5 stars
HOT DAMN! Carmen Jenner has introduced me to new favorite sexy, bad boy.
Sugartown is the typical small town where everyone knows everyone and their business as well. Ana Belle has wanted nothing more than to escape this boring life, but her future is mapped out for her by her well-meaning parents and running the town pie shop is what she will do. Luckily, her dull existence gets a good shake up when tall, sexy, tattooed bad boy comes riding into town. Elijah Cade has dark secrets he wants no one to know, especially the gorgeous blonde waitress who is too good for him. His secrets are dangerous for everyone around him, but Ana is different from all the other women he’s known and he can’t stay away.
“If I were a smart man I’d walk away, I’d cut my losses and move on to the next hot piece of arse, and I’d be better off-hell, that waitress would be better off. But no one ever accused me of being smart. Like all men, I think with the little head more than is good for me and I can’t walk away without a taste of that girl.”
WELCOME TO SUGARTOWN is full of dangerous thrills and action. I mean, you can’t have the ultimate bad boy without the trouble. Ana and Elijah’s relationship is tested several times thanks to his past connections and bad decisions. She has to decide if he’s worth it or if she can stay away from him. I know I would have a hard time staying away from Elijah regardless of what he did. Carmen Jenner writes an amazingly sexy character in Elijah Cade. What is it about tattooed bad boys that has me drooling?
“When I do finally get you naked beneath me-and trust me, it’s not a question of if, but when-I’m going to make sure you haven’t so much as looked at a drink. I want you to remember everything I do with my hands and my lips and my tongue.”
Elijah and Ana’s heat is something to be reckoned with and there is no shortage of steamy sex scenes and tension filled fights. Their relationship ups and downs kept me glued to my kindle like my life depended on it! (Seriously, the hubby asked me if I was going to put it down and I shot him a mean stink-eye.) I love a book that, although describes a life so different from my own, allows me to imagine being there myself. Sugartown becomes a world you can immerse yourself in and see every detail and feel every emotion. The characters and storyline were well-developed and perfectly written. Everyone should have a loud, obnoxious friend who keeps who on your toes and looking for trouble like Ana has with Holly. The moments between those two girls are laugh-out-loud hilarious and genuine. Ana also has a villain of an ex-boyfriend, an overprotective dad, and the cutest little brother ever. Total package of a story.
The hype surrounding WELCOME TO SUGARTOWN is well deserved. Scoop it up ASAP, you will not be disappointed.

Carmen Jenner is a thirty-something author, doctor, pilot and CIA agent.
She's also a compulsive, flagrant prevaricator who gets to make things up for a living.
While Sugartown may not technically exist, Carmen grew up in a small Australian town just like it, and just like her characters, she always longed for something more. They didn't have an Elijah Cade, though. If they did, you can be sure she would have never left.
