Blog Tour Review and Giveaway - Strip Me Bare by Marissa Carmel

Strip Me Bare by Marissa Carmel
Genre: New Adult Contemporary Romance
Published: October 7th, 2013, 227 pages

“I may have had more lovers than you, and I may take my clothes off for countless women, but you are the only one who can strip me bare.”

Do you ever stop loving someone just because they’re gone?

Five years ago Ryan Pierce disappeared from Alana Remington’s life without leaving so much as a post-it note behind. He was the one she gave her heart to, her soul to and her virginity to. So imagine her surprise when she finds him dancing at one of NYC’s hottest male reviews as Jack the Stripper.

Ryan never stopped loving Alana, and now that she serendipitously dropped back into his life, he’s vowed never to lose her again. But being together has its costs, and challenges Alana isn’t sure she can handle. She finally has Ryan back; but how in the world is she supposed to share the love of her life with half of the women in New York City?

My Review:  4 of 5 stars

They come from different worlds. They fell in love. They were ripped apart.

Alana is from a prominent family and is on track to follow in her father and uncle’s footsteps as an attorney. Five years ago, her world was rocked when she gave up her V-card to Ryan Pierce and then he vanished without so much as a note. She may have moved on, but she hasn’t forgotten the man that captured her heart.

Ryan left Alana, but he had his reasons for his disappearing act – a reason I wouldn’t have guessed in a million years. Over the past several years he has been getting his life in order and raking in the dough as one of the hottest male dancers known as Jack the Stripper. So imagine his delight and her horror as their paths cross again while he is dry humping her cousin… half naked, on stage!
I may have had more lovers than you, and I may take my clothes off for countless women, but you are the only one who can strip me bare.

See? Could these two look any more different? Looks are deceiving, because they are truly a match made in heaven!

STRIP ME BARE is one of those books that I really liked the idea of and I was so excited that it actually lived up to my expectations. The characters were really fantastic. I kind of thought Alana was going to be a little hoity-toity at first, judging by her reaction to the “raunchy” strippers at the male review club, but she actually surprised me and I loved her spirit. Ryan was such a sweetie, but at times he was almost a doormat for his mom and brother and I never really understood that dynamic. The supporting characters were such fun, but my favorite was Uncle John *sigh* what a keeper! Too bad he was married, because I was kind of hoping for story all about him ☺

I’ll have to give props to Alana for being confident enough in herself, Ryan and their relationship to be “okay” with him being a stripper. I mean, let’s face it; he’s hot and running around half naked all over the place while horny women go crazy and paw all over him – no doubt offering just a smidge more money for a happy ending… He’s a smart man and knows he has his “happy ending” waiting for him at home.

STRIP ME BARE was a great contemporary romance that has some bumps and unexpected turns that keeps the story exciting. Author Marissa Carmel has a couple of other book out and a few more on the way to shelves and I plan to check out what other tricks she has in her bag!

Marissa Carmel has loved writing ever since a young age. She has a duel degree in History and Political Science, but took as many creative writing classes in college as she could. She spent most of her twenties bartending, which is where she met her husband and a multitude of interesting people.
