With a title like DAMAGED, you can bet your sweet ass that there’s a whole lotta fucked-up going on!

Where to begin?

Sidney is damaged. As a college student, she should be having the time of her life, but she is not. She is pretty much just going through the motions of living. She dates on occasion, but not by choice – mostly only when her best friend sets her up on a blind date. The biggest thorn in her side is the fear of being found by her family and her crazy ex forcing her to look over her shoulder scanning for danger.

In a twist of fate, Sidney and Peter’s paths cross when Sidney agrees to yet another blind date. Confusing Peter with the man she is supposed to meet for dinner, Sidney sparks a chain reaction of events that cannot be explained as anything other than destiny. Oh, but true to the title, you know that theirs will not be a story that fairytales are made of, oh no, but it is a good one and totally worth all the hurdles they are forced to overcome.

Peter is damaged. Also running from his past, he accepts a job as a professor at a small college in a Podunk town – yes, you know where this is going. College Student + College Professor = No-freaking-way-this-is-ever-gonna-happen! Umm-hmmm that’s what they think!

Author H.M. Ward weaves a crafty story and tortured souls to perfection; a story laced with a lot of great inner dialogue that is really quite humorous and a sexy story of forbidden love – one that I could scarcely wait to come to fruition. DAMAGED is low on the heat, but heavy on the chemistry. I was hoping for a little more in that department, but hey! I’ll take a heavy dose of great chemistry and no sex on occasion!

What “new-adult” contemporary romance would be complete without a cliffhanger? Apparently none, since this seems to be very popular in this genre, but relax, the cliffy is mild and is not going to make you crazy. Book #2 is set for release on June 24, 2013, so forge ahead readers! You are safe from the dreaded cliff-monster!
