Sibling Rivalry by Terry Towers

Sibling RivalrySibling Rivalry by Terry Towers

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

SIBLING RIVALRY was a sexy and quick read by an author who is new to me. I love to read erotic taboo and the sibling "thing" is definitely a hot topic that is fun to read about!

Darrien and Ramona are spoiled rich kids who are constantly fighting. In an effort to force them to get along, their parents demand they take a trip together...everyone fears bloodshed, not the dirty, hot weekend they experienced together.

If you are fretting the "incest" avenue, relax, because they are step-brother and step-sister - but the element of naughty is still present. It is a dirty little panty melter that is sure to get you going.

Delilah's Passion by Sarah Bella

Delilah's PassionDelilah's Passion by Sarah Bella

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Okay, so...I liked this book, but it really lost points at the end with me. I HATE stupid heroines who are smart but *behave* stupidly.

Delilah was a high powered copy editor in NY, but circumstances brought her back to the town she grew up in -the town she fled 10 years earlier. With no high powered jobs (apparently) to be had, she accepts a job as a...wait for it... ice cream scooper. WTF? Okay, I can live with that - although it doesn't make sense, but whatever. But When faced with some dating drama, she totally acts like an idiot...like an irrational fool. I am still giving it 3 stars because I did enjoy the story and really liked the characters, but the way Delilah's character behaved WAS NOT how I would have expected such a smart and educated woman to behave... So, for that alone it lost a whole star because I didn't believe her character would have acted like that.

Jet Lag Blues by Solara Gordon

Jet Lag BluesJet Lag Blues by Solara Gordon

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Who would have thought a routine business trip would turn into such a life changing experience? Certainly not friends and co-workers, Darryl, Mason and Val. Working for a mid-sized airline flying the Pacific Northwest, they must plan for the possibility of being grounded due to erratic weather. Thinking this trip would be business as usual, imagine their surprise when an impending snowstorm leaves them stranded in Spokane.

The story really begins when the 3 friends discover there is only one room available in the city and it only has a king sized bed...for the three of them. Though they are friends, Val and Darryl are in a relationship, so, of-course Mason feels like a third wheel, who wouldn't?

I couldn't have been more excited to read about 3 hot friends being forced into a sleeping arrangement that was bound to get them into some steamy situations. Val's character set my nerves on edge with her neediness from the get-go. When the first sentence started out painting a picture of her pouty expression followed by the tears that "pooled in her eyes" just a few short paragraphs later, I was confused at her emotional outburst. It just didn't make sense to me. I can understand being upset about being stuck in a city that's not your own, but crying? What in the world was she crying about? In her line of work, this this can't be the first time this has happened. She is "stuck" with two handsome men who both have the hots for her...I mean, geez...it could be worse!

Aside from Val's emotional status, the pace at which the threesome's relationship transpired was just too quick for me. There was very little time for character development and I just didn't feel like I knew them well enough. I would have liked to have seen a little more tentative flirtation as opposed to the bottle rocket speed the three of them went from friends to lovers. It just wasn't believable to me.

I love menage books. Menage is my favorite sub-genre of erotica, so I am used to escalated plots and fast pace in which characters move from friends to lovers, but this one was just missing something. I really, really wanted to love this book. It had all the makings of a great sexy read, but in the end, it fell flat and left me longing for a more.

Sinder Stone is great at writing something a little taboo, but not so taboo as to not be sold on Amazon ;-) and fantastic at adding a dramatic flair to a sexy story. Great quickie!

Hardcore Cowboys by Stacey Espino

Hardcore Cowboys (Ride 'em Hard, #1)Hardcore Cowboys by Stacey Espino

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

HARDCORE COWBOYS started out strong. It laid a solid foundation for the characters with a great background story. I would have to say this might be one of the best story lines I have read in the beginning of a menage read, but it quickly ran out of steam and puttered across the finish line.

Samantha is a thirty-year-old waitress living paycheck to paycheck. After a grease fire closes down her restaurant for a week, she decides to live a little! Experience life! What better way to do that than to take a road trip! Of course, who knew that her little trip of a lifetime would land her almost dead and smack dab in the middle of three cowboy brothers.

I just knew I was going to love this story. It had all the makings of a hot read with an interesting plot, but when the brothers finally got her naked, the plot went out the window and the sex festival began. The middle of the book was a blur because it was basically same thing different position or brother. The end was slightly redeeming and saved HARDCORE COWBOYS from being a total loss.

If you are looking for a hot Menage a Quatre with some sexy cowboys with a lot of tricks up their sleeves and the stamina of 10 studs, then look no further because this is the book for you!

Autumn Healing by Cooper McKenzie

Autumn Healing (Welcome to Sanctuary 4)Autumn Healing by Cooper McKenzie

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

AUTUMN HEALING is a short menage read where events unfold and romance blossoms at warp speed.

In the hidden valley of Sanctuary lives 4 sets of twins who are also Irish Wolfhound shifters who are each in search of a mate to share. AUTUMN HEALING, the fourth and final book in the Welcome to the Sanctuary series, is where the final set of twins find their mate.

After a series of events leads to her sudden departure from the army, Autumn takes a good look in the mirror and realizes she doesn't like the person staring back at her. Autumn decides to make a change by cutting out all men in her life. In an attempt to give her something else to focus on and help to pull her out of her funk, Autumn's father ships her off to Sanctuary to aid in the birth of her sister's children, the next generation of shape-shifting Irish Wolfhounds.

In Sanctuary, she feels at peace with her life for the first time in a long time. When she steps out of her car, her senses are bombarded with the very enticing pheromones of twin brothers, Frank and Evan. The twins smell good enough to eat and look equally delicious. When she walks into their furniture shop, she feels like she's a hot meal to the starving men. Too bad for them, because she has sworn off men individually, much less 2 of them but their eyes say they don't care what she says because they are ready to devour her.

I am well aware of how quickly things progress in the paranormal world, but they went from "Hi" to "My nipples are aching" in record time. I feel that this story would benefit from a little more character and plot development. It just didn't have enough of a story to really pull me in. It was just okay for me, I wasn't wowed. The fact that I was able to read it in one sitting without putting it down kept it from being in the 2 star range.

Rhinestone Cowgirl by Denise Belinda McDonald

Rhinestone CowgirlRhinestone Cowgirl by Denise Belinda McDonald

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Who doesn't love to read about a fish out of water? RHINESTONE COWGIRL is a great romantic comedy. Watching "Miss Beverly Hills" flourish in podunk America was extremely entertaining.

Poppy Dumphy looks like sex on a stick when she hops out of her rental car teetering on her stilettos and smelling good enough to eat. After taking in the view of her too high heels and too short shorts, Cale Hollander decides that Poppy looks like a whole lotta trouble that he and the little town of Rowdy, TX don't need right now.

Poppy is certainly out of her element--she is surrounded by strange people in a strange town and no one seems to like her much mostly because they can't get past her designer duds and posh zip code. "Pretty little princess", that's what everyone in town calls Poppy when they think she can't hear them, but she hears them and it hurts, but she is there for one reason and one reason only and it's not to win a popularity contest. On the outside, it might look like she has the perfect life of a princess but she is living proof that all that glitters is not gold.

The only blip in the story was how the events unfold with the former rodeo star, Kib. Honestly, it took way too long to get to the heart of the matter where he was concerned and I never quite understood why. I would have preferred that aspect of the story to have developed much earlier so the focus could be more on strengthening their bond and her relationship with Cale.

Cale and Poppy have great synergy. They stir up so many emotions in each other, but she really gets him going. It's like she is the red flag to his raging bull. When they finally give in to temptation, it's fireworks galore!

If you love cowboys and city girls, this is just the perfect book to rope you in for a weekend of fun and sexy romance.

Taken By A Killer by Miranda Stowe

Taken By A KillerTaken By A Killer by Miranda Stowe

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

TAKEN BY A KILLER is an awesome, nail biting, romantic suspense with hot characters and a fast paced story line that promises to please.

Reese Daggart is a dangerous man. He always has been. He is handsome, has a wicked tongue and he really has a way with the ladies--but his extra special talent is ruffling the feathers of one Emily Hayden. Reese and Emily have made a lifelong commitment to bicker with one another - it started way back in the 8th grade. As adults, not much has changed. He is still doing his best to annoy her and she is doing her best not to fall prey to his charismatic ways.

The town of Miners Bend has a killer on the loose and he is picking off the town's women one by one, so currently, Emily has a lot more to worry about than Reese Duggart. But when Reeses' sister, Jenna becomes the eighth victim of The Snatcher, he turns to Emily, the only person who can give him the comfort he craves and the help he needs to find his sister before it's too late.

TAKEN BY A KILLER is the perfect mix of drama and suspense with some fun and sexy romance between Reese and Emily. They have so much fire between them that it's amazing my reader didn't melt from the heat! I loved that Emily was a strong woman and did a great job holding him at bay - she didn't just succumb to his charm as many heroines, even the strongest ones, seem to do.

Miranda Stowe made the characters of Emily and Reese all the more appealing and realistic as their sexy banter was laced with a fair amount of humor and snark that had me giggling as I imagined the scene unfolding. This made the journey all the more enjoyable.

Silk by Em Petrova

SilkSilk by Em Petrova

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

SILK is one of those quick little reads that makes you want to get naked and roll around in some smooth, satin sheets...with two hot men!

Wynne has a wonderful life. A great job. A handsome and loving, new husband. When she is uprooted from her Atlanta lifestyle to live in New England, she realizes she is missing something she just can't live without--her former business partner and best friend, A.J. Though she tries to hide her feelings of sadness from her husband, Jake, her attempts to put on a happy face are futile. Jake knows something is wrong, but when his suspicions are finally confirmed, he hatches a plan that is sure to put the spring back in her step.

I would love to know more about the trio's relationship prior to Wynne and Jake's big move. Obviously I loved the story, but A.J.'s possessiveness of Wynne was a little much, considering she is a married woman. I am confident that the few bumps in the story line would benefit from knowing how these three previously interacted.

SILK is a hot quickie that will make you wish you had a husband who likes to share!

Biteless in Seattle by Holli Winters

Biteless in SeattleBiteless in Seattle by Holli Winters

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

BITELESS IN SEATTLE is a paranormal romance about two egotistical authors vying for the title of "Author of the Year" at the Writers of Romance conference and doing their darnedest not to fall in love.

The blurb held promises of passion and drama that I just didn't feel. Short stories are tough to get right. I thought the premise of the story was a winner and unique, I just don't think it was long enough to allow the story to unfold without feeling rushed.

I really liked the idea of the top-selling romance writers, Rex the vampire and Paige the feline shifter being forced to play on the same team when Paige is signed on to Rex's publishing company without his knowledge. Of course, the sexual tension and rivalry are present forom the very beginning and it is obvious the only solution is to take a tumble between the sheets! It would have been nice to have seen a bit more shenanigans and flirtation between the two before jumping in the sack.

Good idea, but the execution needs improvement.

**TEMPORARY RAVINGS UNTIL I CAN POST A REAL REVIEW...HOPEFULLY BEFORE MY HAIR TURNS GREY AND FALLS OUT...

Fantastic! Dare I say it was an even better read than book 1...yes, I believe I dare say...

EFFORTLESS is a continuation and book 2 in the THOUGHTLESS series. It is as equally heart wrenching and emotional as the first book and the characters grow even more lovable, if that is even possible... I am already dying to read book 3, OMG I am like an addict! When is it coming? She hasn't even started on it from what I understand :-(

If you are looking for a great story with wonderful characters that will send your emotions reeling, then this really is a must read book for you!

**THIS IS (HOPEFULLY) JUST A TEMPORARY REVEW UNTIL I HAVE A LITTLE MORE TIME

Wow! I will try to post a worthy review in a timely manner, but I am a little short on time and I have to dive right in to Book 2 in this series. But, In the mean time...

First off, I want to say: THIS IS NOT A YOUNG ADULT novel. I am not really sure why people have it shelved as one...maybe because these are kids in their early 20's??? The author shelves it as erotica, adult themed - I would definitely have to agree.

I can't say how much I love this book! It's heavy and hot and emotional and sexy and maddening... It is AWESOME!!!

In brief, the story is about a love triangle...where you love and hate all the characters, but mostly love-- actually all the characters in the book are fantastic and realistic. Oh! It's so good! Go and Get it!
